About the collection

This collection represents about 15 years worth of collecting sneakers and streetwear. First slowly, then more rapidly as time went on and the scene became more explosive. My whole collection hovers at around 600 pieces including sneakers, clothing, accessories and toys. I'm selling off a good chunk of the collection to both fund future purchases and to make room for more. As you can imagine, that many shoes takes up a lot of room.

I'm also selling it off because, when you've collected for as long as I have, you realize that there are many pieces you've just "grown out of" as a person. As I went through my collection for this sale, I realized that I was able to attach a specific feeling or memory to each item. Where I got it, when, what I was thinking about it - where I wore it and how that made me feel. What life experiences came about as a result of collecting them or just alongside wearing them.

This is an experience that is doubtless shared by many collectors, and the best of them will tell you flat out that they are collecting emotions, not physical objects. And, sometimes, it's best to let old memories fade so that you can make new ones. 

The way I feel about this also means that I have priced a lot of the collection fairly but not aggressively. In many cases, I could get more for these items in other venues - but I want new people to be able to experience them and, as many items are (lightly) worn, they are going to likely be people that will actually wear and use them rather than just look for a way to turn a profit. So I am attempting to hit the sweet spot of price where it is a good deal for a 'real fan' and not so much for a reseller. I hope you agree. If you don't, don't @ me.
